Winter Wonderland

We have had an ice storm here in Kentucky. I was without power for 3 days and boy did it get cold. I missed two days of work and didn't even get to enjoy them...too cold! I was finally able to get out and get some pictures yesterday. Most of the snow and ice were gone by then, but I was still able to get a few pretty shots. I took the picture above late yesterday afternoon. I loved how the sun was shining through the trees and onto the snow. My husband was a sweetheart driving me around for a couple of hours as I tried to get the perfect shot!

Above is a good shot of the ice that we had form on the trees and cause all of the power outages.

Above is another good shot of the ice.

I love fence row shots and this one was nice with the sun accenting the ice on the little trees.

Although these shots aren't as good as they could have been (I was shooting with my Kodak Easyshare instead of our Canon EOS Digital Rebel), I was still amazed at just how beautiful the snow and ice really were. This weather is a photographer's dream.

Sherri: Beautiful capture of your icy conditions, you made some great shots to take advantage of your situation. I'm so glad your power has returned along with heat.
