In Memory of a Fallen Hero

My friend, Staff Sgt. Gary "Lee" Woods Jr. was killed Friday morning in Mosul, Iraq by a suicide bomber. This was his 3rd tour in Iraq and he was only 24. Lee leaves behind a young wife who was his high school sweetheart, his parents, his step-parents and 7 siblings. Lee was a good Christian young man that only had 4 months left on his tour. Please pray for his wife and family during this difficult time.

"Go Rest High on That Mountain. Son Your Work on Earth is Done..."

A salute from a fellow soldier for giving the ultimate sacrifice.
"All gave some, some gave ALL. "
If I could speak to Lee now, I would say:

"Thank you for your willingess to sacrifice your life in order to keep us and our country safe. You truly are a hero and a man that I am honored to have called my friend. Rest in Peace and God Speed."

The pictures in this blog entry are not property of Sherri K. Photography, they were "borrowed". Thanks.

Sherri: That is such a sad thing as we get ready to leave the area. I do hate to hear of these things.

Sherri...I am Lee's sister-in-law. He was the perfect lil' bro. I don't recognize your name. I trust you knew him. He was my sister's hero, her everything. Thank you for the site. Please keep our family in your prayers.

To anonymous above: I used to babysit Lee & Brittney and have known them for many years. Brittney was probably too young to remember me, but if you ask Gary Lee about Sherri K (me), he will know who I am. I pray for strength for your sister. I can not even begin to imagine the pain that she is feeling right now. God Bless you all.
